MUNSA

Thurs., Dec. 9 - Mon., Dec. 13

Daniel Pink is coming to Trinity University next week !!!
And our class has been invited to attend a special lecture reserved just for educators (and ISA's Global Leadership students)
When: Monday, Dec. 13, 3:30-4:30 (Ms. Allen will be giving you a permission slip - and driving the bus)

Please use the next few class days to get to know Dan Pink's work better and think of some questions you'd like to ask him.
I first became aware of Dan Pink when I read A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future

Thing 1

Read A Whole New Mind: Part One - The Conceptual Age, pp. 7-61
There are three chapters: 1. Right Brain Rising; 2. Abundance, Asia, and Automation; 3. High Concept, High Touch
Stop at the end of each chapter and talk with a partner about the big ideas that stood out to you in that chapter

Thing 2

Read the chapter that connects to your focus from the Flat Classroom Project
Design, Story, Symphony, Empathy, Play or Meaning
Give your classmates a brief summary of the chapter with one or two examples of your concept

Thing 3

Watch Dan Pink's TED Talk on the surprising science of motivation based on his latest book, Drive: The Surprising Truth about What Motivates Us

Or the animated version of the talk he gave at the RSA in London . . .
(If you're at school and YouTube is blocked, you can see it here on Fora.TV)

Thing 4

Watch Two questions that can change your life and do the "What's your sentence?" activity

Two questions that can change your life from Daniel Pink on Vimeo.

Thing 5

Write down at least 3 questions or ideas you'd like to share with Dan Pink during the Q&A time at his lecture
You don't have to ask them, but you do have to be prepared in case he calls on you :)
